SGHS Canvas Advanced August 2023

Getting Started with Canvas SGHS

Canvas Crew Leader

Each school was tasked with creating a Canvas Implementation Plan. As of July 1, 2023 Google Classroom will no longer be an option for a Learning Management System.

I offered professional development sessions on Canvas on August 23rd to for the intermediate and advanced users. I developed the training for the beginner users and worked with other to present these.

Communicated with staff about various WakeLearns opportunities for more Canvas training via Titan Weekly.

Worked with MTAC to determine other Canvas champions last year. We have been able to work together to solve most of our Canvas questions in house.

SGHS Digital Resource Subscription Purchases 2023-2024

Analyzed responses from staff and worked with MTAC, Mr. Faison and Ms. Matthews to renew the following digital subscriptions: DeltaMath, Quizziz and GimKit. I continue to research other requests such as National Geographic, Breakout EDU and NewsELA.

Hardware purchases were planned in discussed, quotes obtained, and explanations of how hardware would be used instructionally with students.

This included 247 new chromebooks, which led to this inventory plan for our school.
