Keeping our classroom tidy and putting equipment back where it belongs.

We will achieve this by:

Putting our property away when we’ve finished into our tote trays
Hanging our bags and coats up on the hangers properly and our shoes on it too
Putting all game pieces away in the games cupboard in their boxes
Respect other people’s property
Help others out when they need a hand to clean up, even if you didn’t make the mess
Putting the felt tips, coloured pencils and jovis back in the proper containers
Staying in one area with our activity so it is easier to clean up afterwards
Treat people with respect and you will receive respect in return
Walk away when you are getting frustrated, using our ignoring muscles, use your words
We will do the assigned jobs we have to do to help our classmates and school

Success Indicator:

We will have tidy and clean classroom
We will feel proud of our classroom
We will be a great team together
All of our equipment will be clean and tidy and not get broken on the floor
We will be really quick at cleaning up because we know where everything goes
We will be friendly and happy to have supportive friends around us
Our friends and adults will be proud of the positive choices we have made

Each morning we will get our brains moving by learning and practicing small things. It will make us smarter!

Words are where humans store knowledge. So we will build our knowledge by reading these articles. We will also increase our vocabulary, improve our reading stamina, and enjoy reading every day.

When you have finished reading, write two or three things that you learned from the article and would like to remember in the classroom Book Of Learning online.

Independent Work

TIMES TABLES GAMES ONLINE - complete all the activities (before you practice using the games). Get your certificate for ALL of the times tables. Practice until you can do it with your eyes closed!
PROTOTEC - Start at a lower level to get your brains going, then go up to the next level to push yourself. Try to get at least 90% correct, keep on trying!
PRACTICE CHAMPS CARDS - PURPLE cards - groups: Matai, Kahikatea, Kowhai. BLUE cards - groups: Kahikatea, Rimu. Choose a card and do the work on it in your maths books. Note down the card name (eg Card 1E, Card 1A) and write down what you are practicing "We are practicing to make complements to 100," or "I am practicing to write numbers that are 100 or 1000 more or less than a given number." Do one card for the day. Don't do the same card twice. Note: The QR codes do NOT work on these.
MATHS BUDDY - When you have finished your ACTIVE TASKS (must be done first) then try the Weekly Revision.

Using our chromebooks, we need to practice our typing. Whaene Vicki can type WITHOUT looking! This is called touch typing. You have to practice a lot to get to that stage, but you can get better and USE MORE THAN ONE FINGER if you practice just a little bit!

Remember to have your headphones on, or your sound turned off.

The more you practice the faster you will become. KEEP TRYING. It gets easier.

Persuasive Writing

We are learning to write persuasively! We know the format our writing must be in:

Introduction - what is the topic? What do you want the reader to do? What side are you on?
First paragraph - our first reason to back up our opinion. Use some evidence.
Second paragraph - our second reason to back up our opinion. Use some more evidence.
Third paragraph - our third and final reason to back up our opinion. Again, MORE evidence.
Conclusion - we summarise what side we are on and a quick recap of our three reasons.

This week we will learn some great vocabulary for our writing. Words that make our readers SIT UP and take notice of us.
