Knowing the class Tiriti on the wall
Quietly helping others (so we don't embarrass them)
Remembering what we do at WES with behaviour
Being respectful to others
Listening for what the teacher expects us to do
Learning about our MANA values
When you help someone, you will feel proud of yourself and they will feel proud of you
We can continue to improve and develop our reputation in a positive way
The class will run nice and smoothly and we will learn a lot and have fun doing it
We will get rewards both as individuals and as a class
Your task is to design name tags for your chromebook holder. Use the paper strips provided on your worktables. We will not be using our rorohiko to do this activity. Please leave your chromebook in its container.
My name will be big, bold and clearly able to be read from across the room
My tag will be colourful
My tag will represent who I am and what I am like - it will be uniquely me!
Take a look at the sheet and mark the answers on it so you know where everything is. You can work together! Year 6s, don't forget to help the new Year 4s and 5s.
Write some facts about you (and some tales). Draw a picture to match. Glue the 'truth or tale?' sticker on the top of the box to the right of your sheet. Write underneath whether your sentence is the truth or a tale and lift to reveal.
Share your 'truth or tale' with a buddy. How many can you guess correctly?
I will have my name on it
I will have four pieces of information about ME - at least ONE will be a lie!
You will have used one piece of green, yellow, orange and red paper to cover your answers.
The small flaps will be able to be lifted up to read my answers
What is a Kōtare? What do they mean to Māori? Where do they live? What do they do? We will complete a small project on Kōtare so you know what our kopa (classroom) is all about.
We will complete this using the sheets handed out.
Both require some cutting and folding carefully. If you fold it successfully, is there someone around you who you could help?
We will be gluing on the Daily Starts/MANA book yellow cover sheet to the front of our books. Use plenty of glue and make sure the edges are really well stuck down.
This book will stay in your tote trays.
