Zoom Meetings is recommended for pre-recorded sessions.
Recording your webinar
Both hosts and participants can record the webinar. However to get the official copy from our Zoom cloud it needs to be the host/co-host/alternative host that records the webinar (i.e. someone using an official ICAEW Zoom licence).
It's simple to do! Just click that record button at the bottom of the screen when you start the webinar (see image, right).
To stop recording, click Pause/Stop Recording or End Meeting.
You'll be asked whether to Record on this Computer or Record to the Cloud. Choose the Cloud.
Automatic recording of webinars
Alternatively if you don't want to take the chance that you might forget to record your webinar, when you schedule a webinar you can set it to automatically record so you don't need to worry about hitting the controls described above. You must choose to record in the cloud because if it's on your computer and you are not available, your colleagues will not be able to access it.
Get the link to your recorded webinar
As a licensed user you will get an email when the cloud recording is available. This links you to two video versions (mp4 and m4a formats) that you can download from Recordings.
If you are promoting the on-demand recording on the ICAEW website, you will need to send the share link to the Content Designer who is creating the website page. You can see this by going to Recordings and then the Share button.
In the Share pop-up if you are going to make the recording available on the website you will need to choose Public. But make sure Viewers can download is not enabled as our participants do not own our IP. The link to send to the Content person is the one highlighted at the bottom of this screenshot on the left.
If you want to continue to collect registration information once the link is on the website then View recording on demand should be toggled to on.
Editing the webinar recording
You can trim unnecessary content from the beginning or end of your webinar recording by clicking the thumbnail of the recording. It will open the video up and you will see a small pair of scissors bottom right of the player for trimming the video. This doesn't affect the original stored file.
Trimming the video means the Zoom shareable link only plays the untrimmed portion. However, the downloadable files of your recordings will remain untrimmed.

For each of your webinars you will be able to see a list of recordings in different formats that you can either download, or copy the link of. If you do not have multiple versions please check your zoom account settings.
On-demand
On-demand webinars allow you to schedule a webinar with registration and record the webinar automatically in the cloud. After the webinar, registration will stay open and anyone who registers will receive a link to the cloud recording. The host will receive registration information for both live attendees and others who register to watch it later.
