Gaza came under two major artillery strikes on 10 May 2021 and 14 May 2021, leading to numerous civilian casualties in Palestine.

The conflict began when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deployed Israeli police and attacked the al-Aqsa mosque multiple times, firing stun grenades and tear gas at the Palestinians and causing numerous casualties and injuries inside the mosque. After Hamas fired back at least 150 rockets, an attack from the army of Israel killed Bassem Issa, a top Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip. The attack also killed 16 more Hamas leaders and destroyed multiple facilities, increasing the conflict between Arabs and Jews in Israel.

As the conflict increased, Israel announced that they protected 1030 rockets out of 1050 using kippat bazel, better known as the Iron dome. However, Hamas currently possesses over 13 thousand Qassam rockets, Which causes the Israeli army to spend over six hundred million dollars. Also, Hamas launched a drone attack towards an Israeli industrial facility, causing Israel to spend extra money on protecting themselves from kamikaze drone attacks. Israel also attacked the al-Jalaa building, which hosted multiple foreign press including AP news and Al Jazeera. An MSF clinic in Gaza was also damaged, causing multiple deaths. The conflict stopped when Secretary of State Antony J.Blinken announced that the U.S will no longer support Israel for any kind of further attacks towards Palestine.

Fighting for the rights of your nation should not be considered inappropriate, but the conflict between Hamas and Israel has caused unnecessary civilian injuries, many of them children. For the sake of Israeli and Palestinian people, Armed conflicts in the gaza strip must come to a halt.
