BSE English-Chinese students convey the performance of dance mimetics as they uphold the benefits of sports that happened on December 10, 2022.

The second-year BSE English-Chinese class upholds the benefits of integrating sports dance mimetics with badminton and table tennis at the University of Caloocan City.

On December 10, 2022, students of the BSE English-Chinese program completed a performance task in their Physical Education course. The task required them to create an innovative dance mimetic routine that incorporated basic fundamental skills from badminton and table tennis, as well as hand signals used in these sports. Under the guidance of Professor Adrian Daag, the students applied their knowledge of different sports to create a unique and effective routine that showcased their creativity, inventiveness, and physical strength. This task was designed to challenge the students creativity and integrate their learning from the course into a fun and engaging activity.

Argelyn Laroza and her fellow second-year BSE English-Chinese students created a video that demonstrated the benefits of integrating sports dance mimetics in physical education. The video was designed to promote the use of sports dance mimetics, showcase the creativity and skill of the students, and encourage teachers and students alike to consider using sports dance mimetics as a valuable tool in physical education classes. Using equipment such as badminton rackets and table tennis paddles, the students incorporated various skills and movements from these sports into their dance routines, highlighting how the integration of sports and dance can enhance physical and mental well-being.

Argelyn Laroza shared her experiences during a facilitated dance mimetic routine, and she highlights the benefits of sports dance mimetics and how to apply them. "The routine provides a way to enhance dancing skills while learning the basic movements of a chosen sport. This makes it a beneficial routine to apply, as individuals can simultaneously improve their physical and mental well-being." Argelyn said.

Jerico Galvez, an English-Chinese major, also stated that sports dance mimetics plays a vital role in everyday life. He emphasised that this practice enables individuals to develop their own unique interpretations and appreciation of culture and concepts, leading to the creation of transformative ideas and the ability to value even the most basic things in life. As such, Galvez urged the public to continue to uphold the benefits of sports dance mimetics to foster greater understanding and appreciation of different cultures.

BSE English-Chinese students recognize the importance of integrating sports dance mimetics in physical education classes and upholding its benefits. By incorporating dance routines that mimic the movements and actions of various sports, students can develop their physical skills while also enhancing their creativity and expression. Despite any initial lack of expertise, the English-Chinese majors demonstrated their will to put in the effort and strive for success in this area, knowing the positive outcomes that can be achieved through this type of artistic expression. By embracing this approach to physical education, BSE English-Chinese students can inspire their future students to appreciate the benefits of integrating sports dance mimetics in their own physical education classes.
