The question on how Astral Children form is one that goes incredibly unanswered, it is hypothesised that they are formed from the fleeing souls of Suns and Stars that have died; their births signaled by the supernova of a dying star. Whatever the case may be, they often show incredible talent even surpassing that of other mortals. Their enlightened minds alone are capable of warping the material plane. Some even have exhaustive memories of life floating among the stars.

In theros, you are instead likely a being born from Kruphix or a similar God, a being created out of sight of the other gods through means unknown even to yourself.

Spriggans are a race of strange plant-like people with origins heavily involved in the Feywild. They are feared and often despised due to their unruly and occasionally malevolent trickster nature. The growth of Spriggans is often one that is unintentional, occurring either from Feywild influence leaking into the material plane or through procreation by other Spriggans and a subsequent seed being formed. Spriggans will then sprout from the ground appearing like normal saplings until they reach maturity, at which point they will uproot themselves to move about like any other forest critter. Their elusive nature is matched only by the Firbolgs they share their environment with, but a spriggan is far more liable to interfere with those that intrude upon their territory.

In Theros, they are often connected to the wild and trickster Gods of Theros.
