Groups

Parties

Parties are out-of-character groups of players. In an attempt to simulate the closeness of players around a real-life tabletop game, players are given a progression-based incentive to play with the same group of people often.

  • To create a party or maintain a party, you need a minimum of 3 people. Parties may have a maximum of seven people.
  • Speak with the staff to find a GM willing to sponsor your party. They must not be in the party to sponsor it. They will be responsible for tracking the party, however to communicate information to track to the sponsor is the responsibility of the party.
  • Parties receive a xp bonus when adventuring together. Starting at two or three members together, you earn 10% extra xp. For 4-5, you instead earn an extra 15%, while 6-7 earn instead 20% extra. These numbers do not stack with each other.

Guilds

Guilds are in-character groups of characters that come together for a common cause. Guilds are an organized system in which to share resources, information, and abilities.

All guilds:

  • gain one benefit from the list below, which all characters within that guild retain as long as they are a member.
  • have a guild chest in which to add shared items and gold.
  • have an appointed leader in-character, who may transfer ownership as needed. An owner is responsible for posting and updating the following form with current information.

A character can only be in one guild at any given time. When that character dies or is retired, that player is no longer part of the guild until they join that guild once more. Guilds may have any requirement for joining they deem fit. A character may leave a guild as needed.

Creating a Guild

Requirements include:

  • 3 or more willing characters
  • 300gp as a registration fee
  • A stronghold or ship with enough capacity to house all members (owning several strongholds increases capacity as normal)
  • One member to appoint as guild leader

Guild Bonuses

When making a guild, choose one feature listed below to provide your guildmates. Alternatively, a different perk can be submitted to Miscellaneous Homebrew Submissions and approved by Game Masters.

  • Skill Training: Choose one skill check, not including initiative. All members gain a +1 bonus to checks using that skill.
  • Tool Training: Choose one tool or vehicle proficiency. All members gain a +1 bonus to checks using that tool.
  • Tricks of the Trade: When using downtime to work at a specific job, earn 15% extra money from the result.
  • Chain of Supply: When constructing a structure using downtime, reduce the amount of downtime days it takes to complete the job by 10%.
  • Sound the Part: Choose one language, not including Thieves’ Cant or Druidic. All members are now proficient in that language as long as they are part of that guild.

Destruction of a Guild

If at the beginning of a week, which is determined to be midnight on Sunday (UTC-0), a guild has less than three members, staff may or may not choose to remove that guild. Additionally, guilds can choose to be disbanded by their owner. When disbanded or removed, remaining guild chest contents are given to the owner to be divided among their members at their discretion. If there is no owner present, it is split among guild members. If no characters remain, the resources are lost permanently.
