Their main ministry is to operate our house of hospitality, where women and children experiencing homelessness come and live for about 6 to 12 months. The Catholic Worker staff and the guests live together in community in their beautiful Victorian home in downtown San Jose. At any given time, there are four to seven guests.

House of Grace provides a comprehensive residential program for single women and mothers with children up to age 5. The program ranges from 10-12 months. Residents are required to obtain employment upon completion of the educational components of the program. The long-term program, treatment addiction center addresses chemical dependency, abusive relationships, and other self-destructive behaviors.

Women's Gathering Place strives to provide a safe community for women, warm meals, sofas to take naps, toiletries and clothing, a washer and a dryer, music, activities, and open hearts and ears to support. Many of the women who come to Women's Gathering Place are homeless, have been unemployed, and have experienced trauma, abuse, or domestic violence. Yet at WGP, a woman without a home can find the support of other women, connect to vital services, and find respite, spiritual renewal, and joy when there is nowhere else to go but the street.
