Rental & Utility Assistance
California law requires that each county have a program to assist its low-income residents who are not eligible for cash assistance from other State and/or Federal programs. Santa Clara County’s program is called “General Assistance” or “GA.” The GA Program provides monthly grants to eligible persons legally residing in the County who have no other means of support.

Emergency Assistance Network (EAN) is a United Way Bay Area collaboration with seven local Santa Clara County partner agencies. This collaborative offers assistance to help families and individuals recover from emergency situations by providing food assistance, rent and mortgage aid, utility assistance and medical and transportation aid, often providing case management and financial education.

Housing Program
Helps people with financial assistance to keep them from becoming homeless, or, to keep them stably housed. Sacred Heart offers non-emergency, federally-funded LIHEAP program, which assists low-income households in Santa Clara County, with paying bills once a year - if the family qualifies.

St. Joseph’s Family Center secures funding from government sources to assist families in a situation of crisis, caused by circumstances beyond their control (i.e. loss of employment). They help subsidize the cost of entering new housing, help maintain current housing and/or utility service with timely financial assistance.

The organization also hosts financial workshops and runs a financial empowerment program, as well as a food pantry.
