The drop-in center serves homeless youth 13-25 and provides basic necessities such as food, clothing, personal care items and access to phone, computers and email. Showers and washer and dryer facilities are also available free of charge. Other support services offered: housing referrals, mental health services, job readiness training, educational support, counseling, HIV testing/education, parenting/independent living skills workshops and computer skills.

Chat 4 Teens connects teens in a live instant message chat environment directly with volunteers trained to provide support without judgment. Chat 4 Teens is safe and anonymous, giving teens a free place to vent, work through problems or get information about community resources. Teens can log on and chat about anything that is troubling them including relationship problems, parents, school, cutting, suicidal thoughts, pregnancy, depression, abuse, loneliness or stress. Chat 4 Teens serves teenagers residing in Santa Clara County. Chat lines are open Monday-Friday 5pm-9pm.


Program removes tattoos from gang involved and at risk youth ages 14-25 in the city of San Jose, who have found tattoos to be a barrier in furthering themselves through education and/or employment. Requirements include: 10 week workshop, 30 hours community services to receive treatment. All tattoos must be visible and gang related.

The Independent Living Program (commonly known as ILP) is a program of Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley (FCS). Since 2009, they have been the sole provider of ILP services for current and former foster and probation involved youth living throughout Santa Clara County. ILP services are available to all Santa Clara County youth and young adults, ages 16 to 21, who are current and former wards and dependents of the court, including non-minor dependents.

Stand Up For Kids is a volunteer-run program that provides mentoring, street outreach and has an outreach center for youth, located in downtown San Jose.

The Village

Hours: M-W-TH/5:30-8PM

Saturdays: 12-3pm

Provides provides a safe place to find support. Also address immediate needs such as food, clothing, personal hygiene, supplies for out on the street, a hot shower, access to the internet for job searching, resume drafting, and overall access to things like applying for an ID, birth certificate, etc. The volunteers help with these needs in addition, if needed, medical care, education assistance, and transportation.
