Believers In Christ is a non-profit, faith-based organization working to meet the immediate need of hunger for folks living in or near downtown San Jose. Guests range through all ages, genders, and races, and some individuals may be staying in housing, shelters, or living on the streets. No faith profession or participation is required and all beliefs are welcome to receive a hot meal and a warm smile.

Grocery Program
In partnership with Second Harvest Bank and volunteers from across the Bay Area, Loaves & Fishes also provides grocery bags to about 165 families each month. The bags are filled with nutritionally balanced items such as rice, beans, peanut butter, tuna fish, eggs, milk and fresh fruits and vegetables. Those who have qualified for the grocery program with Second Harvest Food Bank can pick up bags at Saint Maria Goretti Kitchen, 2980 Senter Road, San Jose (Between Tully & Capitol Expressway, VTA Bus Line 73)

The Mountain View Senior is an all-purpose facility that offers programs and services for adults 55 years of age and over. CSA provides hot and nutritious subsidized lunches for anyone over 60 years old, 5 days/week at the Mountain View Senior Center in partnership with both Santa Clara County’s Aging and Adult Service Department and with the City of Mountain View. Entertainment, dancing, bingo, health and nutrition education is offered both before and after the lunch program.

After a disaster, the Red Cross works with community partners to provide hot meals, snacks and water served at shelters or from Red Crossed emergency response vehicles in affected neighborhoods.

The Kitchen has been serving meals to the hungry in Santa Cruz for over 25 years. Each day a hearty meal of soup, salad, bread, coffee and milk are served to over 180 people at noon. Showers are available daily from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Clothing is distributed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Shirts, pants, socks, and outerwear are available to guests.

The Lord’s Table serves hot meals to the homeless, unhoused and low-income families in our community. The nutritionally balanced meals are prepared on-site by our staff and with the assistance of volunteers. Meals are served on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the St. Mary School gymnasium.
