The Almaden Valley Counseling Service envisions a community where everyone has access to affordable mental health counseling. AVCS is a community-based, nonprofit counseling agency committed to meeting the mental health concerns of all ages with an emphasis on youth. AVCS offers a full range of counseling services which supports and promotes personal growth, positive family relationships and emotional well-being. Fees are based on a sliding scale and are determined by income.

Bill Wilson Center's Transition Age Youth Mental Health Services are available for youth and young adults ages 16-24 residing in Santa Clara County. Youth must either have some form of MediCal insurance or no insurance at all to qualify for this program.

Bill Wilson Center's Youth and Family Mental Health Services are available for children, adolescents and adults up to age 21 and their families who have full scope MediCal insurance as their primary insurance provider. Youth who are experiencing behavioral and/or mental health issues that interfere with their functioning at home, school, physical health, and self care or who are at risk for losing placement may meet medical necessity requirements.

The Children’s Counseling Center provides therapeutic services for children, ages 6-17, and their families. By utilizing different treatment modalities and working in conjunction with a child psychiatrist as necessary and appropriate, the staff seeks to help children and families address emotional and behavioral concerns in order to help improve school and home functioning, social relationships, coping ability, and self-understanding.

The Gronowski Center is a community-based mental health clinic associated with Palo Alto University. It is dedicated to providing counseling, psychotherapy, and assessment services for adults, children, adolescents, older adults, couples, and families in Santa Clara and nearby counties. The Center offers services on a sliding scale fee schedule as part of its community mission. Services are provided by Palo Alto University doctoral-level psychology students under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists.

The Healing Heart Program is a special grief program that is designed to be a resource where families and youth can connect in life-altering times of grief and loss. Healing Hearts offers grief groups for youth ages 5-17, as well as parent/caretaker groups to assist adults supporting children through the grieving process.

Located in downtown San Jose and a satellite office in Sunnyvale, they offer short and long term counseling and support services to clients of all ages including individuals, couples, families and groups; adults, teens and children.
