During this week's Zoom meeting, we will discuss the soft skill of interpersonal savvy and the related gospel topic of Christlike attributes.
Someone with interpersonal savvy: Relates well to all kinds of people inside and outside of the organization; builds appropriate rapport; listens; builds constructive and effective relationships to achieve goals; uses diplomacy and tact; truly values people; can diffuse even high-tension situations comfortably.
In preparation for our meeting:
Read this talk: Love of Christ, Elder C. Max Caldwell, October 1992
Study this scripture: 4 Nephi 1:15 “And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land, because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.”
Ponder on the relationship between interpersonal savvy and Christlike attributes.
Review the questions below and think about how you will answer them in our discussion.
Action Plan: Identify 1-2 actions you will take to increase your interpersonal savvy.
Questions to Ponder:
1.Identify three of the most important things you do to maintain effective interpersonal relationships and why.
2.Give me an example of when you had to deal with a difficult person. What did you do to maintain and build the relationship?
3.Tell me about a time when you made a special effort to treat another person in a way which showed your respect for the other's feelings.
4.What do you do on a regular basis to improve your customer rapport and relationships? Give some examples.
