During this week's Zoom meeting, we will discuss the disciple soft skill of optimism and vision.
A person who possesses optimism and vision: Stays positive and bounces back quickly from setbacks. Is able to create a compelling and inspired vision or sense of purpose for themselves and others. Sees beyond the possibilities of today. Inspires and motivates others to adopt a vision and purpose.
In preparation for our meeting:
Read this talk: "Having the Vision to Do" by Elder O. Vincent Haleck
Study this scripture: 2 Nephi 31:20- "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."
Ponder on the relationship between having a vision and optimism.
Review the questions below and think about how you will answer them in our discussion.
Action Plan: Identify 1-2 actions you will take to increase your optimism and vision.
Questions to Ponder:
How do I respond to setbacks, and what helps me stay positive and keep moving forward?
What vision or sense of purpose motivates me in my work right now?
How can I help others see possibilities beyond their current challenges or limitations?
In what ways can I be a source of encouragement and inspiration to my team or coworkers?
