During this week's Zoom meeting, we will discuss the soft skill of composure and the related gospel topic of being Christlike.
A person who has composure: Stays calm and even-tempered when handling crises, stressful situations, continuous changes, or unexpected developments. Remains cool under pressure. Does not become defensive or irritated when resisted or blocked. Is not knocked off balance by the unexpected; is able to recover from difficult situations. Is seen as a settling influence in a crisis.
In preparation for our meeting:
Read this talk: "Christlike Poise" by Elder Mark A. Bragg
Study this scripture: Mark 4:39- " And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."
Ponder on the relationship between composure and Christlike Poise in your life.
Review the questions below and think about how you will answer them in our discussion.
Action Plan: Identify 1-2 actions you will take to increase your composure.
Questions to Ponder:
How do I respond to pressure or change in a professional setting, and what can I learn from those experiences?
What strategies can I practice to stay calm and constructive when things don’t go as planned at work?
In what ways can I be a steady, positive influence on my team during stressful situations?
How can developing emotional control and resilience help me grow and succeed in my career?
