During this week's Zoom meeting, we will discuss the soft skill of self-development and a related gospel topic of eternal progression.
Someone who strives for self-development is: Personally committed to and actively works to continuously learn and improve him/herself. Continually expresses a predominant concern for the pursuit of inquiry and the acquisition of knowledge or skill needed to understand situations, people and events. Asks for ongoing feedback and coaching as new skill/knowledge are implemented.
In preparation for our meeting:
Read this talk: Life a Great Proving Ground, Elder Franklin D. Richards, April 1981
Study this scripture: D&C 130:18-19 “Whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection. And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.”
Ponder on the importance of self-development to our temporal and eternal progression.
Action Plan: Identify 1-2 actions you will take to increase your self development skills.
Questions to Ponder:
1. How does the principle of eternal progression shape my perspective on self-development in both spiritual and temporal aspects of life?
2. What obstacles prevent me from actively pursuing self-development, and how can I overcome them with diligence and obedience?
3. In what ways can I align my personal growth efforts with God’s plan for me, ensuring that my learning and progress have lasting, eternal significance?
