The Cricket League

Elgin Academy’s cricket team is currently playing against secondary schools across the region in the Winter League. They are playing against schools such as Elgin High School, Speyside High School, and Forres Academy.

Elgin Academy currently has two teams competing, a junior team as well as a senior team. Speyside is currently winning in the league, while the Elgin Academy senior team is in second. 

The Elgin Academy junior team are performing well, despite not having as much experience, and are following close behind the seniors on the league table. The players are showing great skills and demonstrating their strong teamwork between the two teams as the juniors help out with the senior team whenever they are lacking a player.

As well as the competitions, Elgin Academy has created a cricket club as well for the juniors who would like to train and improve their own cricket skills.

If you’d like to join the cricket club, feel free to join the club down in the PE department on Fridays after school!
