A continuation of P01 and P02A, P02B is an individual project that incorporates aspects from both prior projects; combining poetic articulation with site analysis and research for the architectural development for the discovery center which emphasizes a strong engagement and relationship to the site, people, culture, history, spatial experience and programmatic requirements.

One of the biggest challenges was figuring out the genius loci and ensure it is convincing enough to be the driving force for the design decisions and elements. Hence the narrative and genius loci has been tweaked throughout the whole process.

This project was a really humbling experience and it taught me to look into projects through a multi-dimensional lens as I was too focused on the space planning which also did not turn out ideal. My site responses were also too generic and could be applied to any similar setting, I need to be more observant and sensitive with the site and really find the spirit (genius loci) and unique, site-specific characteristics to further develop my design approaches to make a building unique.
