For Architectural History and Theory, it fully covered different eras and phases of the world’s architecture with what influenced it (economics, culture etc.). The module was fully theory lectures. There weren’t any tutorials but there were small activities like kahoot and walter for a brief revision and recap for the topics. I found these small features pretty lively considering history is such an information heavy subject, these activities really broke the boredom with conventional teachings.
This module was 100% online with all the lectures either recorded or taught live on Zoom. The documents were posted on TiMes with announcements posted on teams, facebook and telegram allowing students to get information from a multitude of outlets. The system was very organised, with plans of the lecture (live or recorded lecture and topic) posted the day before.
Lecturer wise, I mainly got in touch with Mr Nicholas and Dr Lia when I had any trouble with the tutorial exercises and analysis projects. They were really thorough in their explanations about my questions. My tutor was Mr Nicholas, he was really attentive in our project progress, asked us to post out progress onto Miro to keep him up to date with everything. For the other lecturers, my interactions with them were only through lectures.
Overall, Architectural History and Theory wasn’t as intense as the other modules but nonetheless it was quite a challenge with more information to learn and memorise the other modules.
