From a building by an architect of our choice, we were tasked to identify and explain five architectural and two structural materials.

I chose to analyse VIA 57 West in Manhattan by Bjarke Ingels. I was able to identify the required five architectural and two structural materials out of many others. However, very detailed researching was needed to analyse in a micro scale; from the properties to the specific product type used and manufacturers.

From this assignment, I found out more about materiality, its usage, properties any the atmosphere it creates while serving its function.

Researching was definitely one of the hardest parts. But i learnt how to choose, cross-validate and filter reference material.
