For the second and final project, a group project, we were tasked to narrow down our observations to one key issue surrounding the selected street. Through research and discussion, we are to produce a topic proposal, a research poster and an oral presentation in the form of a video.
We were expected to develop an understanding on Asian architectural contexts through studies on tradition, modernity and globalisation.
For this project my group chose Jalan Tun H.S Lee and the challenges it faced in preserving architectural identity. From the project, I've learnt a lot about the development process of a history research paper/poster. I have never done anything so in depth like this, from physical site visits to reading supporting materials.
By submission, even though it's my first time participating in producing a research paper/poster, I am slightly dissatisfied in the work and effort I put into this assignment because I know I'd produce better quality work and definitely learn more from the experience.
For future projects, I certainly need to improve in terms of the methodology of producing research papers; referencing, filtering, structuring and refining the research.
