For the third and final project, we had to deconstruct our structure from project 2 and design a space expressing our narrative of first year experience as university students with all the design fundamentals we've learnt throughout the module. We were to document our design progress with study models/ sketches, build a final model produce orthographic drawings and presentation boards.
For this project, Mr Chern was my tutor. I find his comments really constructive and relatable as it is always what I want to create but I only have a vague idea. His references and recommendations really helped me in understanding from the macro (material/ texture/ massing) to the micro (detailing like light)
Besides how I tried to develop my designs, the most challenging aspect of the project was my planning and time management as I spent too much time in designing and model building and was left with less than a week to complete my drawings which turned out decent but under expectation. The presentation was also a weaker aspect because I was all over the place with my presentation. Even though I planned it, as soon as the critics were in front of me, my nervousness took over and my flow was broken.
Overall, I'm barely satisfied with the outcome. I could definitely improve on my rendering, time management, planning and presenting skills for future projects.
