P01 contextual study sketch journal

For our first assignment, we had to choose 1 out of 14 designated streets and were tasked to create an 9 page sketch journal and summary about the place identity including the tangible and intangible aspects of our chosen street .

I was very enlightened by the opportunity to explore Chinatown in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The experience was very fresh even though I've been there countless times before; this time I took it slower have my senses take in all that Jalan Tun H.S. Lee has to offer. I've learned to appreciate more than just the physical aspects of a place, to talk to people and see the story of the place through their eyes. I tried my best to translate that into my sketch journal and I'm quite pleased with what I produced. Of course, there is room for improvement.
