Opening the Application

You can start the program in a number of ways:

1) On the home screen on the Mac, click on Go in the Toolbar at the top and select Applications. Locate r&w (the icon with the purple puzzle piece) and double click on it, or

2) Type read&write in the search bar (look for a magnifying glass) located in the top right hand corner of the home screen. Click on the program in the search results, or

3) If you find that you are using the program frequently, you may wish to place a shortcut on your desktop or place the r&w icon on the dock.

With the application open, you will notice two things:

1) The r&w logo will appear on the desktop just below the Menu Bar. This logo will open up the r&w toolbar.

2) The Texthelp logo will appear in the Menu Bar on the top of the screen and allows access to Settings and Preferences. While the Texthelp logo will remain static, the r&w logo can be moved horizontally along the Menu Bar. Both of these icons will serve separate purposes.
