The extensions listed on this page support students with visual impairments particularly those who can see but have low vision.
ATBar: this is an accessibility suite that is completely free. The tools contained within this extension cover a multitude of supports to assist students with disabilities. These include font customization (size and style), spellchecking, dictionary, text-to-speech, word prediction and colour overlay.
Visor: creates a translucent overlay on the page helping students focus on a given area.
ChromeVox: this extension gives an audio description of any screen for students who are blind
Announcify / Mercury Reader: these extensions distill (simplify) a webpage so that any distractions such as ads, graphics, or unrelated text are removed. Announcify both distills as well as reads text. Mercury reader allows further text formatting after it has been distilled.
Hover Zoom+: enlarge thumbnails and images by hovering the mouse over them
zoomWheel: allows users to change the zoom magnification without touching keyboard or mouse
High Contrast: changes the contrast of the background making text easier to read
