We were traveling with some Brits - Scots Guards, really - as we were slogging to the coast in Norway.
We got cracked in an ambush. Things were looking pretty grim. Pinned down, outnumbered - things were looking bad.
Then, as the Scottish captain ordered "Fix bayonets", one of those crazy Scots Guards pulls a set of bagpipes out of a bag and starts playing...something. No freaking idea. Sounded like a cat that'd eaten a lit candle.
But it was the darnedest thing I ever saw. That...sound, or whatever, got those Scots so riled up, they charged out and turned that ambush completely around. And darned if me and Gomez, an Italian and a Puerto Rican, didn't do exactly the same.
It was like voodoo.
