After announcing his plan to land astronauts on the Moon, the United States introduces the Apollo program (shown as a character). NASA considers the Apollo program as his son with excitement, and the US challenges the Soviet Union to "race to the Moon". Meanwhile, the USSR is drinking vodka in his office. A Soviet government official enters the office with a newspaper in his hand, which shows the announcement of the Apollo program. The USSR shows anger to the announcement, and displays it to other officials. One official suggests that they should ask for other countries' help, but it is rejected by the USSR, who decides to start their own moon landing program to compete with the US.
The US explains his plan to NASA and the Apollo program, dividing the plan into three steps: Researching and building the spacecraft, hiring experts to work on the program, and eventually putting the last two steps together. After a period of time, NASA finishes building his first spacecraft to travel to the moon, but it crashed in an explosion instead, resulting the failure of the test. On the other hand, the Apollo program is recruiting scientists for the project, resulting in many experts joining the program. At last, the US and NASA watch the launch of the new spaceship together, and the spaceship is successfully launched into space. After going to the training room for astronauts and seeing them vomiting, the US still decides to start the Apollo 11 mission. In a speech, the US introduces the crew of Apollo 11 to the public, which are Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin.
Eventually, Apollo 11 lifts off and flies into space with the three astronauts. Aldrin forgot to fasten his seatbelt before the flight, causing him to stuck on the wall after the spaceships lifted off, but he is soon back on his seat. During their time in space, the crew meet Yuri Gagarin and the dog Laika, and Laika causes an explosion on their Soviet spacecraft. The lunar module takes the crew to the Moon after a period of time, when the US and NASA celebrates in excitement. The three astronaut start a global live broadcast on TV, and soon plants the flag of the United States on the Moon, while jokingly declaring the Moon to be part of the US.
Soviet government officials are also watching the broadcast in their offices, when one official points out that the US flag is waving, assuming the landing was pre-recorded. The USSR disagrees with him, telling them that the USSR has lost the "race to the Moon". While the US and NASA are celebrating the landing in the control base, the USSR gives him a call, congratulating him for the moon landing, and inviting him to a personal meeting. The US and the USSR all praised each other during the meeting, but the USSR becomes angry after hearing that the US stole Soviet blueprints. Eventually, the US suggest them to "combine all of their knowledge", to achieve more achievements.
