Updated Commercial Rates from 1st September
Some productions are introducing waivers to indemnify themselves against paying you a cancellation fee. This is being done because new production insurance policies do not cover shutdowns due to Covid-19 reasons.
As an example, should the main Actor break their leg, a cancellation fee is payable, and production claim against the insurance.
If that same Actor becomes ill with Covid-19, the insurance company will not cover the cancellation fee, and the employer is liable.
Legislation in UK Law highlights that, should you be working for a company for more than 4 weeks, you are entitled to 1 weeks paid notice.
