Updated Commercial Rates from 1st September
Prep and Wrap (P&W) is the term given to contracted work outside of shooting/scheduled hours.
Historically, Lighting Technicians have not signed contracts with any P&W added,
either Paid or Unpaid.
This was highlighted to PACT in 2017, and reinforced in the latest rates offer which states:
"This rate increase is agreed on the basis that existing terms and conditions continue as before."
You are strongly advised to reject any Deal Memo or Contract that includes P&W, unless a suitable fee is secured.
It is recommended that the fee for contracted P&W should be no less than 1.5T.
As a general rule of thumb, if it goes on paper, there must be a fee.

Bectu officials and members are working to reduce the time certain departments are expected to work before and after the Shoot Day.
This is a department specific campaign and does NOT impact on contracts with Lighting Technicians.
