Why Not the Skull Coast?

The continent of Nascentia is discovered!

The Black Tusk Tribe, having fled the Sincadere mainland, have landed on the coast of the Nascentia continent. They have established their own territory, named after the recognizable rock formations!

Skull Coast is a menacing and foreboding jungle beachhead that strikes fear into the hearts of those who dare to approach its shores. Nestled between the dense, verdant expanse of the jungle and the relentless, crashing waves of the tumultuous sea, this inhospitable terrain presents a treacherous and unwelcoming landscape.

The jungle that blankets Skull Coast is an entangled labyrinth of towering trees, thick undergrowth, and a cacophony of strange and eerie sounds. The trees stretch towards the sky, their massive trunks wrapped in vines and creepers, creating an impenetrable canopy that filters sunlight into scattered beams. The ground below is obscured by a thick layer of fallen leaves, moss, and decaying plant matter, making every step a potential hazard. Deadly creatures, both large and small, lurk amidst the gloom – from venomous snakes and enormous spiders to territorial predators that prowl the underbrush in search of their next meal.

As you approach the coast, the lush greenery gives way to the relentless power of the sea. The waves crash against jagged rocks and rugged cliffs, sending plumes of white foam into the air. The coastline is characterized by treacherous, rocky outcroppings that seem to reach hungrily for any ship that dares to draw near. A brutish skull carved into the cliff lends to the ominous moniker "Skull Coast."

The bloodthirsty Black Tusk Tribe that calls Skull Coast home adds to the air of danger and mystery. The capricious, unpredictable nature of the Black Tusks make them dangerous foes, but rewarding traders, making the risk most lucrative for the bravest of travelling merchants. The tribe's presence is a constant reminder that this land is not only physically hazardous but also inhabited by a people who are as untamed as their surroundings.

Skull Coast is a place where the natural world's ferocity and the primal instincts of its inhabitants converge, creating an environment of danger and intrigue that is as captivating as it is perilous. Those who venture here must be prepared to confront both the harsh elements of the jungle and the potential wrath of the Black Tusk Tribe that guards its secrets.

Culture

Skull Islanders and the Black Tusk Tribe

Skull Coast is the edge of the known world. Beyond the borders lies a massive unexplored jungle continent known as Nascentia. Though the Black Tusk Tribe dominates the key fortification of the coast, there are many that reside there independently too. Pirates and criminals fleeing from the law of Sincadere. Refugees from the terrors of the underdark. Native tribes that have barely any contact with outsiders.  All manner of sorts are welcome to become denizens of Skull Coast. It is not necessary to become a member of the Black Tusk tribe to be a part of the Skull Coast faction, though it is wise to acknowledge that they have secured and dominate the key facets of the area.

Race

The Skull Coast has a large population of Orcs and Goblins but any race can join so long as they choose to live life in the same manner... primitive and primal, and beholden to the truculent tyrant.

Religion

The core religion of the Black Tusks of Skull Coast is the pantheon of The Primals. These are primarily orc and goblin deities but the lore of the Primals continues to change and update as others bring their gods to Skull Coast. The Gorgun, in his benevolence, encourages the incorporation of other religions under the assumption it is for the Coast's benefit. These changes are considered and controlled under the wisdom of the Hok'Jicho.
