Pre Production
Produce a simple outline/script to follow; some folks choose PowerPoint to keep them on message others create a word doc or text file with notes.
Begin your video recording with a short message stating what they'll learn from the video and do your best to keep your videos short. Under 4-5 minutes or less is best!
Production
Ready all applications and websites for the recording
Click (New) Video
Select Record Screen (New). If you haven't already, add their free Vimeo extension to your Chrome browser
Microphone: Connect, test and unmute
Quiet all background noises, fans, etc. and tell your household that you're recording. Don't forget to silence alerts on your computer and your phone. Murphy's Law - you'll get a text or call during your recording!
Camera: Connect, test, and unmute
REMINDER: Natural light is the most flattering, when possible. Remove distracting backgrounds or use the virtual background feature.
Click Record > Share > Select what you'll be sharing (Desktop, files, or apps)

Click Record
Using your pre-production notes to narrate your video
Click STOP and it'll immediately begin processing; the longer the recording - the longer it takes to process.
Post production
After you've finished your edits and previewed your new video, export it to your computer as a .mp4 video file.
To distribute your video in Canvas you could use your Panopto server space to store your video - it has unlimited server space, at this time.
Login to Canvas
Open one of your Canvas courses
Click PANOPTO RECORDINGS (if you don't see it in your course nav go to SETTINGS > NAVIGATION to find it and make it visible in your navigation)
Click the CREATE (green button)
Select UPLOAD MEDIA
Click the Choose Video (icon) and locate to OPEN the .mp4 video you want to add to your Canvas course via your Panopto Recordings account.
