Produce a simple outline/script to follow; some folks choose PowerPoint to keep them on message others create a word doc or text file with notes.
Begin your video recording with a short message stating what they'll learn from the video and do your best to keep your videos short. Under 4-5 minutes or less is best!
Ready all applications and websites for the recording
Login to your Zoom account (via browser or application)
Microphone: Connect, test and unmute
REMINDER: Turn off any background noises, fans, etc. and tell your household that you're recording) and silence alerts on your computer and your phone. Murphy's Law - you'll get a text or call during your recording!
Camera: Connect, test, and unmute
REMINDER: Natural light is the most flattering, when possible. Remove distracting backgrounds or use the virtual background feature.
Click Share > Select what you'll be sharing (Desktop, files, or apps)
Click Record
Using your pre-production notes to narrate your video
Click STOP and it'll immediately begin processing; the longer the recording - the longer it takes to process.
Login to Canvas
Open one of your Canvas courses
Click PANOPTO RECORDINGS (if you don't see it in your course nav go to SETTINGS > NAVIGATION to find it and make it visible in your navigation)
Located in the top-right corner of your course's Panopto window, find and chose the square with an arrow in it (icon). This will launch your Panopto library where all your panopto recordings for all your Canvas courses reside.
Located in the navigation on the left, click My Folder (nav link) > Meeting Recordings (folder). That's where you'll find a copy of your Zoom recording after it's finished processing in Zoom.
Click the checkbox on your recording's thumbnail image (hover it with you mouse for the checkbox to reveal itself) to either copy, move, or change its access permissions so your preferred audiences can view your recording.
