Phil Courter is a pianist, song writer and producer from Derry N-Ireland. The album was compiled to celebrate his 25 years music carrier, featuring Ralph McTell, The Dubliners, Susanne Murphy, Liam Clancy, and Rory Gallagher whose name was on top of the list.

*_Rory played Cradle Rock after a long years.

北アイルランドのネイ湖畔で開催された野外フェスティバルを、手持ちビデオカメラで撮った88分間のオーディエンスショットが存在する。久しぶりに「Cradle Rock」が演奏されるが、この曲にはやはり若さという武器が必要だったようだ。ロリーが歌詞を憶えていなくて演奏が時々途切れ、ブレンダンのドラムソロとジェリーのベースソロが頼りになっている。「Rock At The Lough」＝「ロック・アット・ザ・ロック」というわけで、コンサート中盤には黄昏のロック・ネイ Lough Neagh（ロック lough はアイリッシュ・ゲール語で湖のこと）も撮影されている。

 1998年の和平合意まで北アイルランド問題は終わらなかったので、この地での野外フェスティバルは厳戒態勢下での開催だった。ロリーはもちろん全出演バンド、そして爆弾を仕掛けたというニセの脅迫があったため、会場入りまでバスの中で数時間待たされたという観客にも、フェスティバルの実現・達成には固い意志と決意が要っただろう。

そしてこれがロリーの北アイルランドでの最後のライブとなった。

This set list is from the same sound source which has been circulating with date 1987/11/15 in Hamburg. But I guess it was 1989/08/17 in Hamburg for the following reasons, so I post it again here. One of the reasoning of mine came from Gerry McAvoy's book episode "Rory did The Loop twice in a show of Hamburg 1989" (see Riding Shotgun page 249. Thank you my friend 'nero' for pointing the page). Another reasoning came from that Rory rarely played Proud Mary, but he did it in another occasion in Mildenhall Suffolk UK 1989/08/05, closer date to Hamburg 1989/08/17.

Rory should be 'not in condition'. His vocals and guitars often went out of tune, misplay and stall. And he played The Loop twice in a show.

この音源は従来「1987/11/15 ハンブルグ」として出回っていたので、1987年ページに掲載したのだが、以下の理由で私はこれを「1989/08/17 ハンブルグの音源だった」と推測するので、1989年ページのここにも再掲載することにした。

ロリーは調子が悪かったようで、歌もギターも音程を外しがちのうえ、時々弾き間違えて音が止まる。「The Loop」を2度やったりもする…。この「The Loop 2度弾き」エピソードはジェリー・マカヴォイの著書『Riding Shotgun』に「1989年ハンブルクでのこと…」として書かれている。また、珍しく「Proud Mary」を聴かせてくれるが、ロリーのライブで「Proud Mary」は他に1回だけ、1989年8月5日、英国Mildenhallのフェスティバル音源の中に見つかるので、これがハンブルグだとしても、日付が近い1989年8月17日の音源だろうと考えるわけだ。
