仕掛け花火で始まるロックパラスト1982年ローレライ・オープンエア・フェスティバル。この日は5バンド出演で、ロリーのバンドの出番は最後だったようだ。ライン河のそばで深更～夜明けも近いせいか、8月というのにロリーの息が真っ白く見え、頭から湯気が立っている。ジェリー・マカヴォイ、ブレンダン・オニールに加えて、大男のサックス吹き2人と見た目が地味なキーボードのジョン・クックの6人編成。

第2部はフェスティバル最後を飾るジャムセッション。この日出演したフランキー・ミラー、エリック・バードン、ドイツのBAP、デヴィッド・リンドレイ、ロリー・ギャラガーの5バンドの中から、ヴォーカルのエリック・バードン、スライドギターのデヴィッド・リンドレイ、BAPから数人と、最終ステージを務めたロリーのバンド全員がステージに上がった。デヴィッド・リンドレイ以外は革ジャン着たゲルマン民族系の大男ばかりで、ロリーはひときわチビでおとなしく見え、歌おうとマイクの前に立てば押し出しの強いエリック・バードンに弾き飛ばされる。ロリーと仲が良かったヴォーカルのフランキー・ミラーは出番が最初だったせいで残っていなかったのか、ここに登場しないのが少し残念。

In this show and the show in New Haven 1982/12/11, audience recording were not in good enough quality, but fantastic. In both Philby, Rory's electric sitar and John Cooke's keyboard sounding really exotic and magical.
