I am a Peruvian woman and a current student at the Universidad Latina de Panama. My 36 years of age make me a humble, compassionate, merciful, and friendly individual who tries to get along with people no matter what their background is.
Furthermore, I have been living in Panama since 2025 with my husband and son. During these years living in this great country of Panama, my life changed in positive ways, and I feel thankful for that.
Regarding these two translation courses that I am starting to attend with you. I am fully committed to improving my translation skills, and I am confident that you can assist me in achieving this goal. I am determined to excel in these two subjects, whether working alone or with others. Not only that, but I will use upcoming assignments as an opportunity to hone my skills and conquer any weaknesses I may have.

Project 5 - LITERARY TRANSLATION

Optional Project - GISTING
Parents focus on teaching children important points, such as cleaning their own rooms, doing their homework and acting responsibly. But there is one lesson missing, which can be considered the main one: how to enjoy life - and without relying on consumerism to do so.
CONCLUSION
Taking this course has allowed me to gain more knowledge about how to translate accurately using the CAT TOOL or MACHINE TRANSLATION. I also put into practice the different types of translation techniques, including Literary Translation, Omission, Addition, Transportation, Equivalence, Calque, and Borrowing. I found these to be the most useful in this course.
In addition, I got new information about different topics that I had never seen or heard before.
In terms of the activities in Moodle and Google site, I enjoyed both, because in Moodle I learned the theory that I then applied in Google site, that is, I had to present what I learned and translate the topic given by my teacher. I found the LITERARY PROJECT to be particularly interesting since I used the novel by Mario Vargas Llosa, a Nobel Prize winner. La Ciudad y Los Perros intrigued me because it contained unknown words that I had to search for.
To summarize, I learned how to use the CAT and Machine Translation correctly, practiced the techniques for translation, and became aware of new topics in my field of knowledge. I learned a lot in this course. To my classmates, I recommend keeping at it, always putting your best foot forward, and you will succeed.
