The Karachi Region is one of the most important and active regions of Pur Umeed Zindagi (PUZ). The region plays a central role in delivering free, ethical, and accessible mental health services through a combination of hospital‑based care and community‑level outreach.
Karachi Region includes the Korangi Campus Mental Health Hospital and Baba Island, ensuring that both urban and underserved coastal communities have access to quality mental health support.
Ms. Tasleem Barkat serves as the Karachi Region Lead and provides overall supervision of mental health services in Karachi. She is responsible for coordination between clinical services, Mental Health Officers (MHOs), and community outreach activities.

Oversight of PUZ mental health services across Karachi
Ensuring ethical, confidential, and quality care
Supporting mental health awareness and stigma reduction
It provides structured mental health care and serves as a referral centre for individuals requiring advanced support.
Ms. Tasleem Barkat conducts clinics at the Korangi Campus, where she provides:
Clinical assessment and guidance
Support for severe mental health cases
Supervision and consultation for MHOs
Follow‑up care and referral management
The Karachi Region is supported by a trained team of Mental Health Officers (MHOs) based at the Korangi Campus.

Baba Island is an important site within the Karachi Region, focusing on community‑based mental health services for an underserved population.
