Psalm 32:1-11
When the LORD Hides
1 Blessed is he
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the man
whose sin the LORD does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit.
3 When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night
your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer.
Selah
5 Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the LORD”—
and you forgave
the guilt of my sin.
Selah
6 Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you
while you may be found;
surely when the mighty waters rise,
they will not reach him.
7 You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you and watch over you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule,
which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked,
but the LORD’s unfailing love
surrounds the man who trusts in him.
11 Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous;
sing, all you who are upright in heart!
David wrote many of the Psalms...He often writes about God hiding from him...Here David thanks the LORD for forgiving his sins...We are to confess our sins and transgressions to the LORD, so we can be forgiven...Blessed is the man, whose sins are forgiven, and whose sins are covered...Blessed is the man whose sins do not count against him...For those who believe in Jesus, they have their sins not counted against them...They also have their sins forgiven and their sins are covered...Happiness is a pardoned sinner...
Then David writes that we must pray to God while He may be found...God is always present, but some days it seems like God hides from us...Other days when we talk to Him, while we feel Him and have found Him life seems good...He always wants us to seek Him...He is not hiding, we are...We are separated by our sins...The LORD does not want us to everyday to avoid Him, and then in our darkest hour to start praying to Him...If we do this we my find He is no where to be found...He wants us to seek Him, and find Him -always...This is not because He doesn't love us, because He does...This is a weak analogy, but would you never want to see your grown children until and only when they are having a tragedy...It is nice to see them when they are having good days, too...Love is love, and it accepts this...But love is an all the time thing, and not just felt when times get tough...
Some days it does seem that life is very tough on us...We feel beaten down some days...On those days you try to find Him, and He seems no where to be found...He is there...Let us pray to Him on our tough days and all days...Let us praise Him always...He is our hiding place...He is our deepest security...He is our only hiding place...God teaches us through His natural laws and the Bible...Let us rejoice in the LORD and be glad and righteous...The LORD instructs the sinner and gives him hope...Jesus is that hope...Happiness is the forgiven sinner...
