Psalm 121:1-8
A song of ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
This is a beautiful and uplifting song of faith and trust that we are under God's protection...We learn different things from Psalm 121...One is that we depend on God...As I lift my eyes to the hills wondering where my help will come from...We acknowledge that we as man has limitations...We need a Higher Power to help us on many situations...My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth...The Maker of earth and man is our help and is a powerful reassurance of His Power and Strength...God is the Creator of all things...And through all things that are in the Universe are made through His Son...
God gives us constant protection...He is our watchful Protector who never sleeps...He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep...
The Psalm uses vivid imagery to depict God's care for His people and children...We are children of God who is always protecting us...The LORD watches over you—the LORD is our shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night...
God protects us not only during the daytime but also during the night, when fear and worry can be amplified...His protection is always there and constant...The LORD will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forever...
We can be confidently and remain assured that God is present and active in our lives, even when we may not feel it...Let us be encouraged to look beyond ourselves and our immediate circumstances for our comfort and hope...Let us thank the LORD with praise and gratitude...
God provides a source of strength and peace in times of difficulty and uncertainty...The Psalmist's message is timeless and relevant to all people, regardless of faith or background...The author reminds us the God always offers a sense of security and hope that can sustain us through life's challenges...
