Job 11:7-9
The Mysteries of God
7 “Can you fathom the mysteries of God?
Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
8 They are higher than the heavens above—what can you do?
They are deeper than the depths below—what can you know?
9 Their measure is longer than the earth
and wider than the sea.
Psalm 19:1-6
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.
Can finite man know the Mysteries of the Infinite God?...In the Book of Job, as Zophar looked around and saw the earth with its huge oceans, and stared at the heavens above, he saw wonder...And also long ago, the Psalmist looked up into the sky and saw the sun, the moon, and the stars -it is like he saw a glimpse of God, in his thoughts...The voice in the sky had no speech, and no sound, yet the cosmos voice goes out to the entire world...God's Infinity goes out beyond our limits and exceeds our imaginations...There is this Great Design in the Universe that we try and find hard to explain...
Zophar saw Something higher and Greater than him...As we read the first part of Psalm nineteen, we can see that David sees God in the stars and the heavens...David says, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands...Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge...They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them...Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world...In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun...It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course...It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth."...
We still look up to the stars today and see Something Supernatural, a Supreme Being...Astrologer and Astrophysicist George Greenstein said, "As we survey all the evidence, the thought insistently arises that some supernatural agency—or, rather, Agency—must be involved...Is it possible that suddenly, without intending to, we have stumbled upon scientific proof of the existence of a Supreme Being?...Was it God who stepped in and so providentially crafted the cosmos for our benefit?...The universe's design benefits all of the living creatures He created...
