NAD - ABC Workshop at MKBU

On October 4, 2023, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University organized a workshop on Digilocker, NAD (National Academic Depository), and ABC (Academic Bank of Credit) for university teachers. Despite being intended for faculty, students from the Department of English at MKBU had the privilege to participate as volunteers. The workshop, led by Dilip Barad sir, the Nodal Officer of NAD-ABC, featured Garima Sharma ma’am from Ahmedabad, providing a comprehensive overview of Digilocker and ABC ID. Digilocker, a nationwide initiative under the Digital India Cell, streamlines document access and sharing, offering benefits such as document storage, online sharing, easy access, reduced paper usage, and prevention of fake documents. The platform has over 6.2 billion users and includes #DGyatra for enhanced citizen convenience in travel. With over 2.02 crore ABC IDs generated, it provides flexibility in subject selection and integrates credits from courses like SWAYAM and NPTEL. The university successfully uploaded over 600,000 degrees and marksheets on Digilocker. The workshop clarified the distinction between NAD and ABC, emphasizing their respective roles for university usage and student empowerment. The university also launched NEP 2020 during the event. As volunteers, we gained valuable insights and appreciate the opportunity provided by Dilip Barad sir and Vaidehi Hariyani ma’am. Kudos to all volunteers for their efforts.
