On August 22, 2022, the Department of English at MKBU, Bhavnagar, organized a workshop and a guest lecture by Dr. Nishant Pandya on "The Importance of Being Earnest." As students of semester 1, it was a distinctive experience, requiring us to independently manage the proceedings under remote guidance from our mentors. The responsibility for board work was shared among us, with Trushali Dodiya handling drawing, Kosha Bhatt overseeing fonts, and myself, Pooja Bhuva, taking charge of decorations. During this engaging session, Dr. Pandya delved into various aspects, including the social background of the age, drama in the 19th century, the ascendancy of drama during that period, comedy of manners, aestheticism, and providing insights into the life of Oscar Wilde.
