Rangvato

We - students of the Department of Gujarati, the Department of Life Science and the Department of English and other guests too - were lucky to have conversations  with the most dedicated people in the cinema and theater world known as Bhavini Jani , Manoj Shah and Pratik Gandhi Let me share some of these interesting parts of the conversation. First, we talked with Bhavini Shah and the title of that session was ‘Rangvato’. She talked about her Journey and experience of various movies and theaters. As an actor she tried to explain this feeling with one line, “એક ભવમાં બધા ભવ ભજવી લેવા મળે and “કલાકારની ધાર કાઢવી હોય તો theater કરવું પડે.” She told about an interesting incident about her negative role and she got hit by a slipper in the middle of the play and after finishing that performance she cried and one member told her that this is the award of her negative performance. In the second session we were glad to meet Manoj Shah and Pratik Gandhi. He talked about his experience of playing two different characters with the little gap in performanceṣ. One is ‘મોહનનો મસાલો’ which is about the life of Mahatma Gandhi and second is about ‘હું ચંદ્રકાન્ત બક્ષી’. He also told about how some characters leave an influence on his own life and sometimes someone has to rehabilitate after playing that particular role. Moreover, we had a very interesting conversation with Manoj Shah and he told us about how his school life was and how he got interested in Direction. He changed around 14 schools from KG to 9 standard and after that he quit studying, but he is living his life as a learner. I want to show my gratitude towards Mahendrasinh Parmar and everyone who organized these beautiful sessions.
