Antibacterial compounds

Looking for "old" and "new" natural antibiotics

On the photo you can see some  horrible 'mold' on a mandarin, but in fact it's Penicillum Digitatum (a kind of Penicillin, because yes it's an "old" and natural antibiotic if you extract and purify the good molecules!).  It is possible to take a sample and grow it in Petri dishes. BUT Don't do this and don't use it at home! If you still want to experience this, do not use penicillin afterwards! Here the tests carried out are just used to find natural antibiotics, but not to use them!

The second image is Penicillin under microscope.

Basic material to search for natural antibiotics at home during the shelter-in-place!

The glass beads helps to properly prepare and distribute the sample in the Petri dish.

E.Coli BL 21 & Kanamycin and sterile water.

Tris Buffer to mix with the samples.

With the tree (Acer japonicum) in the garden + some wild geranium.

From mature leaf to seed.

Antibiotic control and buffer control with samples.

The sample (leaf 3) with a halo has natural antibiotics and also the baby leaf seed (4).

Wild geranium leaf and burgeon have natural antibiotics but not the flower.
