What are the directions that the content can project out from the target?
The directions that the content can project from the target is mostly upright.
How do glass reflections affect the targeting?
The Pro Studio class found that if a target is behind the glass, the target can only be about 20 inches away for the user to be able to pick it up. The glass makes it harder to recognize the image target. However, if the target is right on the glass, the user will be able to pick up the target from a farther distance. We conducted a few tests and got the results below:
· Using a Moto Z2 phone, the target has to be 20 inches away from the glass.
· Using Moto Z2 phone you can be 30 inches away from the target being right on the glass
What is the maximum reliable distance that the tablet or phone can be from the target?
We found out that different sizes of targets affect the distance the user can be away from the target.
· Using a target size of 2.5 inches x 4.5 inches the closest distance the user has to be away from the target is about 20 inches
· Using a target size of 3.5 x 6 inches: User can be 34 inches away from target without boarder
o Using MotoZ2 user can be 36.5 inches away from the image targets of the fissure and drone
o Using MotoZ2 user can be 31 inches away from target of the oxygen and astronaut
o With light and people in the background user can be 25 inches away from target
The larger the targets are the easier it is for the target to be picked up.
· Using a target size of 6 x 10.5 inches
o Using a MotoZ2 user can be 44 inches away
o Using Samsung S9 plus user can be 60 inches away.
o Using a large tablet user can be 40 inches away from the targets of the astronaut and the oxygen
On 4.5 x 7.5 image user can be 35 - 44 inches away from the target
Other things we found during our testing.
When we were testing the vu buttons the user had to press more than ½ of the target to be activated. When looking at the screen the button had to be faded or the color changed for it to be activated. We also found that bigger buttons are easier to work.
Higher contrast makes the targets easier to read.
Duplicate images can only activate one of the targets.
Devices need to be up close to the paper to pick up the targets, but the targets remain on screen as you back away, but only lasted a couple feet.
Vumark requires the device to be a lot closer to the target.
**Ground Plane in vuforia does not work on Moto Z2 phones.**
