AR Characters

Design Goal

the user experience requested from GRPM is a target that looks like and blends in with the existing posters in the space. The AR characters will then come to life on the page similar to a Harry Potter newspaper (other references below).

2D and 3D Forms

  • All characters will be caricatured somewhat in order to give the user the impression that they are embarking on an entertainment experience (as opposed to a "digital textbook")
  • Form styles can be varied
  • Must be high contrast for sight impaired and to mimic letter-set printing press output

Stone Look

  • Target a stone-sculpture style that integrates 'chiseled' forms
  • Match the lighting to this example.

Pixel Dimensions

  • 1024 wide by 1254 tall

Animation

Animation Frame Rate & Style: TBD

Lip Syncing Style: TBD

AR Target Design

The Printed Paper Target

  • Will be affixed to a wall amongst other posters
  • Will share a common base
  • Will include still image from the AR animation with a mezzotint filter (psd)
  • Will include a brief bio for the character (without the clue)

AR Animation Design

The AR Animation

  • Will pop-up and animate as video ... covering a portion of the printed target.
  • The same paper texture will be laid over all of the videos
  • Both the animated bust, the subtitles and the audio will be delivered via a single video.
  • When the character stops talking, the animation should pop down (disappear) for 2 seconds , then pop-up and start again
