Police Youth Ambassador (PYA) Programme
The Police Youth Ambassador Programme for Sec 3 Cadets is to help cadets to understand that taking ownership in improving the safety and security of the community beyond school is an important part of being socially conscious – serving the common good.
To qualify for the PYA Badge
Your unit needs to collaborate with an NPC to complete your PYA project.
Ask your teacher-officer for assistance to:
Submit a proposal to the NPC with your Unit's identified area of concern (such as theft, vandalism, alcohol/drug abuse, smoking, anti-terrorism, scamming, etc.) and request their support.
Work with the NPC on their existing project
Collaborate with the NPC to develop a project that serves both unit and NPC
All Sec 3 cadets will be planning out activities such as creating booths, making presentations, or performing skits to actively spread awareness of anti-crime messages. Please craft your plan on Annex A PYA-VIA below.
Carry out the project in your community.
Try to get a good beneficiary feedback score (>15/20)!
Complete the Reflection in the document below as a group. (To maximise your learning, it is suggested that all Sec 3 cadets in your unit do a reflection before discussing and crafting the combined reflection. )
Important!
Please note that with effect from 9 October 2019:
Avoid designing community-outreach posters/flyers in view of the complexity in clearing the content for public communication.
PYA should only use crime prevention / SGSecure or other internally cleared materials from SPF when you join the NPC CPU officers for the joint community-outreach activity.
NPCC school units should continue to engage their NPC CPU counterparts for the most current / relevant SPF-cleared community-outreach materials.

In case of restrictions due to Covid-19
If cadets are unable to physically interact with members of public in case of further restrictions due to Covid-19, cadets may carry out their PYA project online:
After the planning process of the project, each cadet would instead share their project with at least 5 members of their family and/or neighbours via Zoom or otherwise (PYA).
Cadets are to record the names of the personnel they shared the information with, and relation to the cadet, in the document below.
They are to also receive feedback from each of the personnel they shared with.
The CSSP PYA Sharing Records will be included as part of your PYA submission.
