Plan

Overview

Planning is the most important part of any VIA project. It involves the following :

Step 1 - Brainstorm Project

Identify the theme for your community project.

Use the following guiding questions as you review the list:

- What are the needs of your community?

- Which of the issues/areas are you personally passionate about?

- Do you have other members with the same passion?

- How & why will this project impact you and group members?

Step 2 - Brainstorm Activities

Decide on at least THREE activities that would help create an impact in your community. Some examples are:

        • Organise a competition

        • Present anti-crime message in class during FTGP

        • Game and Information booths at canteen

        • Assembly talks or performance

        • Create pledge boards/banners for students

        • Use Social Media platform to spread anti-crime messages

This list is definitely not exhaustive! Do come up with ideas of your own too!

Step 3 - Forming Committees

Form the following basic committees:

        • Chairman & Vice-chairman

        • IT/Video/Photography Committee

        • Presentation Committee

        • Activities Committee

        • Logistics Committee

        • Treasurer & Welfare Committee

Adapt this list to fit your group profile! If you do not fully understand the roles above, do refer to Learn.

Step 4 - Decide Date, Venue, Logistics and Assigned Responsibilities & Timeline

Consult your teacher officer/adviser and decide the following :

        • When is the best date & time for your project?

        • Who is your target audience?

        • Will your selected venue be spacious enough for the target audience?

        • How will your programme be like?

When completing your timeline:

        • What are the important milestones/tasks/goals ?

        • How much time is required to perform each task?

        • Who has the best abilities to perform these tasks?

Do ensure that your TO is kept up to date on all matters.
