Our 4-year residency features a Military Unique Curriculum to provide our residents with the tools they need to care for patients while deployed in austere combat environments. Courses such as Trauma Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Combat Trauma Management (CTM), Field Medical Service Officer course (FMSO), Surface Warfare for Medical Department Officers Indoctrination Course (SWMDOIC) and Mountain/Cold Weather Medicine are among the many courses available for our residents to take. We also incorporate Joint Trauma System Clinical Practice Guidlines and research relevant to deployed/combat medicine into our conference lectures and journal clubs throughout the year.
Additionally, many of our residents elect to join the Wilderness Medical Society and pursue a fellowship (while in residency) in Wilderness Medicine.
The USNS Mercy is yet another Operational Medicine and Global Health elective in which our residents can participate during 2-3 week stretches in the south Pacific in support of the Pacific Partnership exercises.
Graduation Requirements
2024 residency graduates need 7 points
Due to earlier MUC exposure, residents should expect required points to increase (expect 10) in future years.
If you find a course not listed in the points system, email ACRs to discuss
