The annual EM In-Service Training Exam is held nationwide every year in February and is a measure of progress and likelihood of passing the Emergency Medicine written board exam. It is highly recommended that residents and interns begin studying no later than 01DEC prior to taking the exam, however, longitudinal studying throughout the course of the year is preferred.
There are multiple ways to study, though most residents and interns prefer practice questions and tests, either through PEER or Rosh Review. PEER is purchased for us by the Residency Program. Rosh Review will provide a group rate as organized through one of the residents in the early fall. In Training Prep is a good, free resource if review videos are more your speed.
More details on the exam and test dates can be found on the ABEM website.
